Faith in Medicine

It seems there is a perpetual battle between science and religion, although I do think progress is being made to show that one does not refute the other. I intend to update this page regularly with books, videos, quotes, and other resources relating to Christian faith. It is my hope that others will find it enlightening.

Jesus > Religion: Why He Is So Much Better Than Trying Harder, Doing More, and Being Good Enough

By: Jefferson Bethke

  • Based off of his YouTube video, Jefferson Bethke goes into detail about the difference between Jesus and religion.  Jefferson Bethke is experienced beyond his years, and his knowledge of the Bible is truly inspiring. I highly recommend anyone to read this book, but it is especially enlightening for those with questions about the true meaning of Jesus. This is easily one of my favorite Christian books!

The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism

By: Timothy Keller

  • Being an analytical thinker, I’ve always found it important to educate oneself on the positions of both Christians and non-Christians. I’ve read books by atheists, as well as by Christian leaders. Timothy Keller is also a proponent of developing an understanding of both sides of an argument and of being able to have friendly discussions between both sides as well. Through intellectual reasoning, Keller explains how belief in God is a completely rational position.

Genesis and the Big Bang: The Discovery of Harmony Between Modern Science and the Bible

By: Gerald Schroeder

  • Gerald Schroeder is a Jewish physicist that presents a detailed argument for his belief in both scientific evidence and in God’s creation of the universe. Using Einstein’s theory of general relativity, Schroeder explains how the book of Genesis and the Big Bang theory can both be correct. This is a great read for any scientific thinkers out there!
