There are A LOT of viruses in the world!

Four Norwegian scientists published a paper in 1989 indicating that during their research, they found 250 million virus particles per mL of seawater.  The study was performed by Oivind Bergh and his colleagues, and it involved the use of electron microscopy to count the viruses.
