I spent most of my weekend coaching and/or driving to and from soccer games. I coach both U14 and U17 boys travel soccer so my time is completely consumed by work and soccer throughout the spring. It was a mediocre weekend of play with a couple wins and a few losses.
A positive note of so much driving was the amount of audiobooks I was able to listen to! I regularly listen to audiobooks since I’m in the car so much and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys books but often lacks the time to sit down and read! I completed The Emperor of All Maladies, which only had a couple hours left by Friday evening. In preparation for the newly released movie, I also completed The Great Gatsby which is just under 5 hours in length (extremely short for an audiobook).
Now I’ve started listening to Gulp: Adventures on the Alimentary Canal by Mary Roach. I think she is a fantastic author and already look forward to the rest of this book having only heard the first hour of it. She does a great job of keeping the reader interested and seems capable of making any subject matter interesting.
