A recent national survey conducted by Kathryn Weaver, PhD of Wake Forest School of Medicine and her colleagues suggests that the quality of life of cancer survivors is less than that of individuals with no history of cancer. The study referenced to both physical and mental health related issues. It discovered that although individuals can obtain successful cancer treatment, they more often report a poor mental and/or physical quality of life as compared to cancer-free individuals.
It just goes to show that the battle is never truly over for many people.
